Our Story
Our Founder worked with major corporations, start-ups, scale-ups and governments to deliver data products and programmes. Whilst doing so he noticed commonalities in those that were facing delays, overspends or failing to deliver on the real needs of their target audiences.
Fundamentally, there was always a disconnect in the implementation of the business strategy across the data, technology or product realms. This also worked in the other direction where the customer-led strategies of the product, data science or AI innovation teams weren’t incorporated into the business strategy. In some cases, delivery of technology was not aligned to either leaving innovation teams struggling with the wrong tools or little strategic support.
Archernar has set out to change this.
We help to set and inform strategies, plans and backlogs bi-directionally; creating the means for all stakeholders to directly monitor and understand how a programme of work will deliver value and what part they play in that success.
The river of stars
Archernar is the brightest star in the constellation Eridanus and means ‘end of the river’. Eridanus is the longest North-South constellation in the sky and lends its name to rivers in several ancient cities.
Data, like water should flow. However, the journey from beginning to end can be long, almost as long as the river in the sky!
Data, like water, should be life-giving to organisations and if kept clean, safely stored and well managed, it can be.
Too little or too much water can be dangerous. The same can be said for data.
We believe that data is like the river - we can navigate it and use it to not only give life but to power valuable economic and social change for all.
